About Djooky

Djooky Inc. is a music and fintech startup with an ambition to democratise and decentralise the global music industry.

Giving power back to the people, its aims are to create fairer opportunities for musicians who are struggling to break through existing power structures, which have been amplified as a result of the current pandemic. Djooky Inc. officially launched its operations in April 2020, but the team had been working tirelessly on the concept for the last two years.

In July 2020, Djooky launched the world’s first global online music contest, the Djooky Music Awards (DMA). The competition is open to all artists and songwriters, amateur and professional, from all around the world and runs four times a year seasonally, allowing them to compete for lucrative cash prizes and a recording trip to LA’s iconic Capitol Studios.

In a span of just one year, the platform has grown to become the world’s biggest song contest. By its fourth season of Spring 2021, over 2,500 artists from 129 countries have nominated their songs for the DMAs, with over 150,000 music lovers from 176 countries registering to support their favourite acts.

Djooky’s core team operates from Los Angeles, Berlin, London, and Kyiv, Ukraine, with an amplified global presence in New York, Sydney, Lagos, Cologne, São Paulo and Bangkok via the platform’s PR partners. Co-founded by Brian Malouf the multi-platinum US producer who has worked with the likes of Madonna and Michael Jackson, the Djooky team also includes Grammy-nominated artist and music director Patrice Rushen, UK Ivor Novello winning songwriter Sacha Skarbek, producer/music executive and songwriter Justin Gray (whose credits include Mariah Carey, John Legend and Avril Lavigne), and ex-Universal executive and record producer Andrew Dakhovskyy, Djooky co-founder and CEO.

Djooky also has brand ambassadors in Iran, Tanzania and Namibia, The Philippines and the Solomon Islands who help to build the brand’s visibility in countries with identified high potential talent. John Paulo Bagnas Nase AKA Pablo from the Philippines won the Spring 2021 edition of the DMAs, receiving either a cash prize of $20k or an all-expenses-paid trip to Los Angeles where he would record a song with Brian Malouf at Capitol Studios.
