Renowned Australian singer-songwriter Vance Joy has joined forces with face-value ticket resale service, Twickets, in a move to protect his fans from scalpers and their rip-off prices. The partnership, which will cover the Australian dates of his world tour, will enable fans to resell tickets safely and fairly.Vance Joy will be using his website and social media to direct fans looking to buy or resell tickets for the Australian dates to a dedicated landing page launched today: vancejoy.twickets.live Fans will also be able to sign-up for mobile and email alerts when tickets are listed on Twickets.Since bursting onto the music scene in 2013, Vance Joy has become an international sensation. His debut album ‘Dream Your Life Away’ topped the charts in Australia and went platinum in his home country, as well as in the USA and Canada.Twickets has already inked a number of successful partnerships since launching in Australia earlier this year. Artists from chart-topping Ed Sheeran and grime trailblazer Stormzy, to the likes of Aussie rockers Midnight Oil have all signed up to ensure that tickets to their concerts are being sold at face-value. This latest partnership is further evidence that the winds of change are blowing in the live music and events business in Australia, as popular opinion continues to shift against secondary ticket websites and profiteering scalpers.Danny Hannaford, who heads up Twickets Australia, added: “It’s great to be teaming up with Vance Joy and his team to be able to offer people a fair alternative to the secondary sites and their swindling. We’re finding that Twickets is getting a great reception here in Australia, both from fans and industry alike, and we look forward to growing our service with more official partnerships in the coming months.”About TwicketsTwickets is a ticketing platform that enables fans and event organisers to trade tickets at face value for gigs, festivals, and sport, theatre and arts events.Twickets first launched in the UK as a full ticket resale platform on mobile and web in February 2015. It saw support from almost 900 investors including industry figures Marcus Russell and Alec McKinlay (Ignition Management), Chris Wright (Chrysalis Records’ co-founder), Ian McAndrew (Arctic Monkeys, Royal Blood), and Tony Wadsworth (ex Chairman of EMI Records), Closer Artists (James Bay, George Ezra), Modest Management (One Direction, Niall, Little Mix), Steve Parish (Chairman and co-owner of Crystal Palace FC) and Andy Murray.Australia is Twickets’ second territory.
