NOTTINGHAM // Awareness and Launch Event10th April 2015 from 6.30pmRough Trade Nottingham Featuring performances from:* Three Body Trio* Congi* Yazmin Lacey* Warren Xclnce Launching on 10 April, the ‘Searching for the Perfect Beat: Future Bubblers’ initiative, a brand new expansion of the Gilles Peterson and Brownswood Music ethos, is ready to find the best in new music from within Nottingham and across the UK, specifically that which falls between the cracks (stylistically speaking).Funded by Arts Council England, ‘Future Bubblers’ is a music talent discovery and development initiative which, as an extension of a concept that has always been at the core of Brownswood Music and Gilles Peterson’s values, has a music policy that is incredibly eclectic - crossing genres, continents and eras of influence. With a focus on making in-roads into new areas, geographically and musically, the first stop on the Future Bubblers journey is Rough Trade Nottingham - the newest vinyl haven in the city - where Brownswood invite local music heads, media and press to help launch the project in the city of Nottingham. The aim of the event is to introduce the Future Bubblers initiative; to explain the project’s intentions and provide an important audio reference via the specially curated live performances and DJ sets for those that Browsnwood hope will become local ambassadors of the project.Beyond developing the music makers in the city, the Future Bubblers initiative intends to join together with existing supporters of leftfield music in the city by working with Future Bubblers Partners in and around Nottingham. For this event, Brownswood Music has worked closely with local music supporters Mimm [Music is My Motive].“Working with these partners is so important in the creation of sustainable music scenes. It’s not about Brownswood and Gilles invading these places as the all-seeing, all-knowing London aficionados.”“This is about digging for the most exciting and innovative grass roots music creatives is some of the most overlooked cities, and uplifting them. Showing them that there is a community of music appreciators, a Future Bubblers family of like minds that is here to support and guide them.”The event starts at 6:30pm. There will be an introduction to the project followed by a Q&A from 7:30pm. Following the introductions there will live performances and DJ sets from: Three Body Trio:Classically trained Saxophonist, Peter Beardsworth leads this new, innovative free jazz meets electronic fusion project.
