Essential Music & Marketing announce seven new label deals

  • US labels Cult Records, Kanine Records and the Kemado Label Group agree physical and digital distribution deals for UK/Europe
  • UK labels FatCat, Loose and Lex agree deals for physical and digital distribution
  • Nettwerk Records to use Essential for UK & Eire physical and digital distribution  
  • Essential now offering regular client workshops from their London HQ – giving labels direct access to decision makers and experts, including key digital services

January 24th 2013: Essential Music & Marketing is delighted to announce seven new distribution deals.The new signings include Julian Casablancas’ Cult Records, Kanine Records and the Kemado Label Group (Kemado RecordsMexican SummerSoftware), all of whom Essential will distribute in the UK and Europe.  Essential have also cemented their business relationship with Nettwerk Records, who they will distribute in the UK & Eire.Tom Clapp co-founder of Kemado Records said: “The Kemado Label Group is pleased to partner with one of the fastest growing independent distributor label service groups.  With Essential, we are finally working with a partner who can bring all our labels, catalogues and new releases together, and make them available throughout Europe.”    They are joined by FatCat RecordsLex Records and Loose Music, all of whom will be serviced by Essential for European distribution.  Tom Brown, founder of Lex Records said: “I am delighted to have partnered with Essential - for an independent like Lex their expertise and approach will be a huge boost in the year ahead.” The deals will see Essential work on a range of exciting new releases, including Har Mar Superstar, The Virgins (Cult); Bleeding Rainbow, Beach Day, Valleys (Kanine); Mood Rings, No Joy, Part Time, Vietnam (Mexican Summer); Autre Ne Veut, CoLa, Slava (Software); Hauschka, Mazes, Dead Gaze, Mice Parade, The Growlers (FatCat); The Handsome Family, The Rockingbirds, The Felice Brothers (Loose); Neon Neon  (Lex); and Passenger (Nettwerk).With Essential celebrating its tenth anniversary this year and enjoying record success in 2012 (including 14 UK Top 40 albums) the new additions join a growing roster of labels from around the world, all of whom utilise the company’s comprehensive range of bespoke services – from manufacturing and digital expertise, through to creative management, marketing, promotion and sales.As a valuable addition to this list, Essential are now offering regular workshop events from their London headquarters – giving label clients direct access to decision makers and experts, including key digital services and broader networking opportunities.
