Sharon Hodgson MP, Arctic’s manager, Ticket Factory director join ticketing summit

-       Sharon Hodgson MP joins Regulation panel-       Arctic Monkeys manager Ian McAndrew added to Innovation panel-       Ticket Factory Commercial Director to discuss Olympics scheme that beat the touts-       Music Week Editor to sum up year in secondary ticketing and present statisticsIn a week that has seen Mumford & Sons fans refused entry to a Portsmouth gig after purchasing tickets through Viagogo and Seatwave, and Rolling Stones tickets on secondary sites going unsold because of inflated prices, MusicTank is adding further experts to the upcoming think tank on ticketing on the 5th December 2012.Sharon Hodgson, MP for Washington and Sunderland West and Shadow Education Minister, has been added to the second panel of the event, which seeks to clarify what sort of Regulation the industry wants and needs. A founding member of the FanFair alliance, she has led the campaign against ticket touting in Parliament and in the last session tabled a Private Member’s Bill calling for mark-ups to be capped at 10%.Ian McAndrew, CEO & Founder of Wildlife Entertainment and manager of Arctic Monkeys, has been added to the Innovation panel – which looks at how to improve the primary market - alongside speakers from Songkick, Sandbag and WeGotTickets. As both an MMF board member and founding member of The FanFair Alliance, Ian will be sharing his knowledge and ideas about current and future models of ticketing that will ensure fairness and transparency for consumers, artists, promoters and sellers.Also joining the first panel will be Peter Monks, Commercial Director of The Ticket Factory- a UK ticketing agency in sport, music and entertainment. He will be discussing his involvement with Podium, an alliance of event industry organisations and the Metropolitan Police set up prior to the London Olympics to ensure that touts were unable to profit from the resale of official tickets.Music Week Editor Tim Ingham will kick off proceedings with a short summary of that has happened (or not) in the world of secondary ticketing since Channel 4’s incendiary Dispatches aired in late February.
